About this policy
This Cookie Policy explains how SecureFLO, LLC (“SecureFLO”, “we”) uses cookies and similar technologies on secureflo.net, what they do, and how you control them. It applies to this website only. How we handle personal data in general is described in our Privacy Policy.
When you first visit the site, a banner asks for your choice. Nothing beyond the essential items listed below is set until you choose Accept all or switch a category on in the settings. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with the button below or the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page.
What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser; the browser sends them back on later visits, which is how a site can remember a choice you made or tell one visitor from another. Similar technologies include the browser’s local storage (a small store that works like a cookie but is not sent with every request) and tracking pixels. In this policy “cookies” covers all of them.
Cookies set by secureflo.net itself are first-party; cookies set by another company whose service we use are third-party. A session cookie is deleted when you close the browser; a persistent cookie is kept until its expiry date or until you delete it.
The categories we use
Essential (always on)
These are needed for the site to work and to stay secure: they remember your cookie choice, protect the contact form against forged submissions, keep SecureFLO staff logged in to the publishing area, and let our hosting network tell real visitors from automated traffic. They do not follow you across other sites, and the law does not require consent for them.
Analytics (needs your consent)
With your consent we use Google Analytics 4, a service of Google LLC, to count visits and page views and to see which pages and links are used, so that we can improve the site. Google Analytics sets the cookies listed below, and Google may process the data on servers in the United States. We use its reports as statistics about visits, not as profiles of named people; according to Google, Google Analytics 4 does not store visitors’ IP addresses. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services; Google also offers an opt-out browser add-on.
Marketing (needs your consent)
With your consent we use the Apollo.io website visitor tracker, a service of Apollo.io, Inc., to recognise which companies visit the site, so that our team can follow up with relevant information. Apollo keeps an anonymous identifier in your browser’s local storage and reports page visits to its servers, where it may match the visit against business data it holds about companies and, for visitors in the United States, about individual professionals: Apollo’s partner LiveIntent may recognise a hashed form of the visitor’s e-mail address, which is sent to Apollo with the page visit and cached in the browser for 24 hours, and LiveIntent sets the cookies listed below. Granting this category also allows Google Analytics to share advertising-related signals with Google Ads (the _gcl_au cookie); if Google’s advertising features are enabled for our Analytics property, Google may also set its own advertising cookies on google.com and doubleclick.net. Read Apollo’s privacy policy.
Content you choose to load
The map and the meeting calendar on the Contact page and the demo video on the Products page come from OpenStreetMap, Google Calendar and YouTube (privacy-enhanced mode). They load only when you press the button on them, and those services may set their own cookies from that moment, under their own policies.
The cookies in detail
| Name | Set by | Category | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| sf_consent | secureflo.net | Essential | Remembers your cookie choice: which categories you allowed and when. | 6 months |
| sf_csrf | secureflo.net | Essential | Protects the contact form against forged submissions. Set when the Contact page loads. | Session |
| sfadmin | secureflo.net | Essential | Login session of SecureFLO staff who publish articles. Only set in the publishing area. | Session |
| cf_clearance | Cloudflare (our hosting network) | Essential | Set only if Cloudflare asks you to pass a security check, so you are not asked again. | Up to 1 year (Cloudflare’s challenge passage setting) |
| _ga | Google Analytics | Analytics | Tells visits by the same browser apart with a random identifier (no name). | 2 years |
| _ga_<id> | Google Analytics | Analytics | Keeps the state of the current visit (session) for the same purpose. | 2 years |
| _gcl_au | Google (Google Ads, set by the Google tag) | Marketing | Links a visit to a Google Ads click so that conversions can be measured. | 90 days |
| apolloAnonId, liveIntentData and two keys named after Apollo’s account id (local storage) | Apollo.io | Marketing | Anonymous visitor identifier used to attribute page visits to a company, the queue of visits waiting to be sent, and two 24-hour caches. | Until you withdraw consent or clear the site’s data (the caches: 24 hours) |
| __cf_bm | Cloudflare, on Apollo’s script host (assets.apollo.io) | Marketing | Bot protection for the Apollo script. | 30 minutes |
| _lc2_fpi, _li_ss (cookies, 2 years); _lc2_fpi_js, _li_dcdm_c (cookies, session); _li_duid (local storage) | LiveIntent (loaded by Apollo for US visitors) | Marketing | Identifiers used to recognise a person across websites. | Up to 2 years |
Withdrawing consent removes the analytics cookies and the Apollo identifier from your browser straight away. Cookies that other companies set on their own domains (such as __cf_bm on assets.apollo.io) can only be removed in your browser settings.
Your choices
- The banner and the settings dialog. Accept all allows both categories, Essential only allows none, and Manage settings lets you decide per category. Your choice is kept for 6 months, after which we ask again; we also ask again if this policy changes in a way that matters.
- Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as an opt-out of the Marketing category: marketing stays off, even if you had allowed it before the signal was on, unless you switch it on yourself while the signal is on. Analytics stays as you chose.
- Do not sell or share. SecureFLO does not sell personal information. The Apollo identification described above may count as “sharing” under some US state privacy laws; keeping the Marketing category off, or sending the GPC signal, opts you out of it.
- Your browser. Every browser lets you block or delete cookies and site data, for this site or for all sites; see your browser’s help pages or allaboutcookies.org. Blocking essential cookies may stop the contact form from working.
Changes and contact
We update this policy when the cookies we use change; the date at the top shows the current version. Questions about cookies or privacy: email@secureflo.net, +1 (781) 819-4235, or the contact form.
